Women have to face many types of physical problems in their lives. One of which is Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), also known as Polycystic Ovary Disease. This is a common disease occurring in women. This disease is also seen in adolescent girls. According to statistics, 6-10 percent of women are unsafe.
What is PCOD
In women, this disease occurs due to disturbance in the balance of reproductive hormones and worsening of metabolism. The menstrual cycle is affected by unbalanced hormones. Today we are going to tell you home remedies for PCOD. It has been observed that under normal circumstances, ovaries form and come out every month after periods. At the same time, in the case of PCOD, these eggs are neither able to develop completely nor come out.
Causes of PCOD
Genetic: An imbalance in hormones is
considered to be the main cause of this disease, but if a mother has had this
problem, there is a possibility that her daughter may also be vulnerable.
However, this has not been confirmed scientifically, but caution is necessary.
Male hormones: Women's ovaries also produce
some amount of male hormones (androgens). In the case of PCOS, the male hormone
is produced in excess, due to which the ovaries are not able to come out during
the ovulation process. This condition is called hyperandrogenism.
Insulin: Insulin has also been shown to
cause PCOD in some scientific research. Insulin in the body works to convert
hormones, sugar, starch, and food into energy. When insulin is imbalanced, the
amount of androgen hormones increases and the ovulation process is affected
resulting in PCOS problems in women.
Poor lifestyle: Lack of nutrients in food,
eating more junk food, not exercising physical exercise and consuming alcohol
and cigarettes can cause this disease to women.
Symptoms of PCOD
- Irregular periods or stop altogether.
- Excessive vaginal bleeding.
- After the eggs develop under normal conditions, the ovaries produce progesterone. After this, the level of progesterone is low and the lining of the uterus becomes lighter, then periods begin. At the same time, when the eggs do not develop, the lining of the conception becomes thick, which is called hyperplasia. As a result, the woman has more prolonged bleeding.
- Nail pimples on oily skin and face.
- The skin of some parts of the body becomes deep and thick. It mainly occurs in the neck, armpits, and the middle part of the abdomen and thigh.
- Hair grows rapidly on the thigh, abdomen, chest, and face.
- Having type-1 diabetes.
- Weight gain may begin.
- During the ultrasound, things like lumps in the ovaries can be seen in excess.
PCOD home remedies
Many things found in the kitchen can be
used as a home remedy for PCOD.
Use cinnamon: Take one teaspoon of cinnamon
with a glass of warm water, then insulin levels can be prevented from rising.
Use Flaxseed: You can use flaxseed in PCOD
home remedies. After grinding the seeds of flaxseed, drink one or two teaspoons
of powder in a glass of water. This leads to a decrease in androgen hormones.
Drink mint tea: You can also add mint tea
to the home remedies for PCOD. Research has confirmed that mint tea acts as
an anti-androgen. Drinking it provides relief for PCOS. Boil dry mint leaves in
water and then sieve it.
Use fenugreek: It does not allow insulin
levels in the body to rise, keeps hormones balanced, and improves metabolism.
Soak three spoons of fenugreek seeds in water for eight to ten hours and then
grind them with honey thrice a day.
Use licorice: It reduces androgens, controls cholesterol, and improves the metabolism process. Boiling dry licorice in one cup of hot water every day is beneficial.
