As part of a pilot with MGM, we have been chosen to have access to their patient booking and appointment management software. We have been asked by MGM to ask their patients (new or existing) if they would be interested in using this software. This software will replace the usual process of getting a patient's account details to book an appointment and having to call them back to confirm or cancel. The idea is that it will streamline the booking process and enable appointment changes by the patient with less time taken up by telephone calls back and forth.

If you use MGM Hospital we have been invited to access this software and invite you to use it. If you choose to use this software, MGM will ask you for your name, e-mail address, and your existing MGM username and password and they will register your name. We ask that you tell us if you decide to use this system so we can send you the invitation again.
You should check with MGM what the current costs will be for MGM if you decide to use this software. MGM does not charge an access fee as part of this arrangement and it is up to you to decide if this is something you want to use. MGM has no control over how many members use this software and if you wish to register you must inform them. The access fees paid by MGM cover our costs and administration and support you in administering and setting up your user account.
We also have access to all the relevant information, reports, and statistics to keep our patients informed and to help inform the management of our department of the outcome of the new booking system. We may also ask patients for further information or ask them to complete a survey or participate in an internet survey of their appointment experiences with our department or to give us their feedback on improvements that we can make to our department.

The use of this software system will be entirely voluntary and it is entirely up to you whether or not you use it. We can withdraw or decline access if we feel that the software is being used or accessed for a purpose that is not acceptable or in any way harmful to patients or staff or to our good name. We do expect that our patients will have the relevant data protection, data storage, and security policies in place to meet both the relevant law and the requirements of our MGM access.
We will use your name and e-mail address to contact you if we need to contact you about this software. We will be using our own e-mail address to communicate with you about this, so do not be alarmed if you do not receive communication from us from this address.
